Binance Partners with Ingenico: Now Pay in Crypto at French Stores!
• Binance and Ingenico have formed a new partnership allowing in-store payments in France via Binance Pay.
• The initial test of this offering is only available on Ingenico Axium payment terminals in France and more than 50 cryptocurrencies can be accepted.
• A crypto-to-fiat solution allowing merchants to receive fiat payments is set to pilot in Q2 of 2023.
Binance & Ingenico Partnership
A new partnership between crypto exchange, Binance, and credit card service company Ingenico has allowed for in-store crypto payments via Binance Pay in France. This pilot program is only available on Ingenico Axium payment terminals and supports more than 50 cryptocurrencies.
Merchants Paid in Crypto
Initially, merchants will be paid using cryptocurrency, but a crypto-to-fiat solution will be made available later this year that allows merchants to receive fiat payments instead.
The first two merchants utilizing the program are Le Carlie and Miss Opéra from the hospitality and retail sectors respectively.
Expansion Across Europe
In addition to France, other countries where Binance is an approved crypto operator are planned for expansion of this service including Italy, Lithuania, Spain, Cyprus, Poland, and Sweden.
